Cavity Wall Insulation

InstaFibre cavity wall insulation is available in four types as described below. An
exclusive patented blown installation process developed by InstaGroup and approved
by the BBA is used to install the three mineral wool systems.

The InstaBead cavity wall insulation is installed using a compressed air system
which delivers the beads, together with adhesive, under pressure into the cavity.
InstaFibre Yellow Wool

Manufactured from recycled insulation material (granulated glass wool fibres
manufactured from silica sand and treated with an inert water repellent), Yellow
Wool provides an alternative to InstaFibre White Wool described below.
InstaFibre White Wool

This insulation comprises granulated glass wool fibres manufactured from silica sand
and treated with an inert water repellent during manufacture. It is a new generation
product developed specifically for insulating cavity walls.
InstaFibre Rockwool

Manufactured from Basalt volcanic rock, this type of insulation comprises granular
rock wool fibres treated with inert water repellent during manufacture. Its loose
fibres are easily blown into the recesses of the cavity. It is a well-established
insulation product offering excellent thermal resistance.
InstaBead Cavity Wall Insulation

This system consists of an expanded polystyrene bead material injected into the cavity
where it is bonded with adhesive. It is the latest addition to the InstaFibre range.
Cavity Wall Insulation Technical Information
Without InstaFibre, heat is lost through the empty cavity in your external walls.
With InstaFibre insulation installed, heat is radiated back into your home.
More heat is lost through the walls of our homes than in any other way. A
staggering 35% of our domestic heat is wasted across un-insulated cavity walls,
which means that we are consuming energy far in excess of our needs.
New Building Regulations introduced by the Government require an increase in the amount of
insulation fitted in all new homes to make heating more efficient, more economical to run and
to help conserve the world's natural resources. Soon we will all be expected to save energy by
insulating our homes to a required standard.
Energy Efficiency
New Building Regulations introduced by the Government require an increase in the
amount of insulation fitted in all new homes. This will make heating more energy
efficient, more economical to run and help conserve the world's natural resources
by reducing carbon footprints. Soon we will all be expected to save energy by
insulating our homes to a required standard.
Cavity wall insulation is one of the easiest and most effective methods of doing this.
InstaFibre is a blown mineral wool, which, once installed in the cavity wall, forms
an insulative barrier, which retains the heat inside your home. It works by storing
the heat in the inner wall and radiating it back into the home - with the effect
that you can turn down your heating without losing out on comfort. It also maintains
a constant temperature throughout the home. One of the benefits of this is to
eliminate condensation. Draughts are also reduced as InstaFibre seals off the gap
around badly fitting door and window frames. InstaFibre cavity wall insulation makes
your home warmer and cheaper to run by cutting the cost of your heating.
To ensure a total fill of the cavity, the material is blown through a predetermined
drilling pattern of small holes that are made good with matching mortar after installation.
For many years, InstaFibre has been used extensively by the building and construction
industry. Our material is widely used to insulate factories, offices, schools and
and is specified by Housing Associations all over the country.
InstaFibre cavity wall insulation is available only through our network of fully
trained specialists. Using our patented InstaFibre insulation system, which has
been approved and certified by the British Board of Agrément (BBA), you can be
assured that you are getting the best cavity wall insulation.
The fact that so many house builders, local authorities and construction companies
use InstaFibre across the UK is testimony to the proven effectiveness of the
InstaFibre system. As quoted in the Agrément Certificate for the material, "No
failure of InstaFibre has been reported to the British Board of Agrément". This
unparalleled performance means that you can have total confidence in the InstaFibre
cavity wall insulation system.
